Patti Smith rocks after film screens!
Musician spoke to reporters after 'Dream' showing.
Poet/musician Patti Smith sang for the crowd at her press conference on Saturday.
Patti Smith rocked a crowd full of journos during Saturday's press conference following the unspooling of her documentary.
Answering questions about "Patti Smith: Dream of Life," the iconic singer spoke to reporters -- while eating yogurt -- about such topics as Bob Dylan, politics, leaving a cognac on her husband's grave, among other things.
"People have asked me about documentaries for decades and I never really wanted to do anything because I always imagined documentaries as something you did after someone died," she said. "But when Steven (Sebring) came into my life, I had hit a very low point -- my husband had died, my brother had died -- and having him believe in me was actually helpful."
Smith ended the presser on a light note, performing "My Blakean Year" with her acoustic guitar, drawing a standing ovation.
