Patti Smith may be 61, but there are no signs of a slow-down for the Godmother Of Punk. In September, Steven Sebring's Sundance winner, Patti Smith: Dream Of Life will hit theaters via Palm Pictures. The film is an up-close-and-personal look at Smith through both her spoken and sung performances, lyrics, paintings and photographs. Narrated by Smith herself, the film features performances with the multi-hyphenate Sam Shepard and composer Philip Glass.

In congruence with the film's release, Rizzoli will publish Sebring's the book of the same name in August. It will be comprised of Sebring's photographs integrated with private Smith quotes and transcripts.

All of this comes after the announcement of a new release from Smith, The Coral Sea, a live, spoken-word collaboration with My Bloody Valentine frontman Kevin Shields, which will be unleashed July 11 via their own PASK imprint, as we previously reported.

New Yorkers can get an early peak at Patti Smith: Dream Of Life when it plays are Film Forum from August 6-19.
